Jet engines made by Pratt & Whitney, reliable engines.
Maximum 747 take-off weight can be as high as 400.000 Kilograms.
A very safe aircraft, even with one engine on fire and another shut off,
 a Boeing 747 will bring you safely home with only 2 engines operating instead of 4 engines 
and which was our experience over the Pacific several years ago.
